NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING A SOLID WASTE FACILITY PERMIT FOR A SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Sustainable Waste Management, hereby gives notice that it has tentatively approved a Solid Waste Facility Permit application regarding the operation of the proposed Old Quarry Road Associates, LLC. solid waste transfer station to be located at 33 Old Quarry Road, Bernardsville Borough, Somerset County. 

The application for a Solid Waste Facility Permit was submitted in accordance with the requirements established at N.J.A.C. 7:26-2. The facility is proposing to accept solid waste types ID 13 (Bulky Waste) and ID 13C (Construction and Demolition Waste) at a maximum capacity of 100 tons per day of waste, Monday through Saturday.

The public comment period on the draft permit action begins on the date of the publication of this notice and will extend to May 27, 2022. During this period, any interested person may submit written comments concerning the draft permit action to:

A public hearing will be held to receive comments regarding the draft permit action on:

Social distancing and masking practices will be employed during the public hearing. All attendees must adhere to the social distancing and masking requirements at all times within the venue.

The application and all other supporting documents, as well as the draft Solid Waste Facility Permit and fact sheet are available for inspection at the above noted office of the Department's Division of Sustainable Waste Management, the office of Bernardsville Borough Clerk and the office of the Somerset County Clerk.
