There are two requirements for selling a home in the Borough of Far Hills.
As no building or structure shall be occupied in whole or in part prior to the issuance of a certificate of construction records clearance (CRC). A CRC shall be required prior to the sale of any residential or commercial structure and prior to the rental of any tenant space in a commercial structure within the Borough per Ordinance 2020-14. Submit the Construction Records Clearance Application complete with the applicable fee to the Technical Assistant to the Construction Official Helen Patatoukas in the Construction Department at 908.234.0611 extension 11.
In addition, prior to the sale or lease of any structure or any change in occupancy for residential purposes, the owner shall obtain a certificate of smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm compliance (CSDCMAC) with the Borough Fire Official per Ordinance 2017-02. Submit the Smoke Detector-CO Alarm Permit Application complete with the applicable fee to the Fire Official Steven Dill or by phone at 908.234.0611 extension 29.
